Chu Ros Thai is proud to be among the delicious and diverse flavors serving the East Harlem Community. Offering authentic Thai street food and comfort food classics, the Chu Ros team is committed to bringing fresh ingredients and original recipes straight from their hometowns in Thailand to our customers.
Came here for a late weekend brunch. The floor to ceiling windows were kept opened and a ray of sunshine was beaming into the cozy restaurant. Appreciated the decor inside that gave it a pop vibe to the place. we tried the shrimp mango salad and pork chop. The pork chop was excellent with four to five slices of charred pork with steamed veggies and rice. The salad was also tasty with ample shrimp but I should’ve ordered with the sweet chilli dressing on the side, as it was a little too saucy for me. Will come back to try their other dishes!
I had an amazing experience at the restaurant! The service was outstanding, and I was pleasantly surprised when they asked about my allergies—which made me feel truly cared for. I ordered the Duck Tamarind, and while I couldn’t finish it because I was so full, the tender duck and crispy skin were delightful. I highly recommend trying the Honey Roasted Duck; it was simply incredible! This was my first visit, but it certainly won't be my last. Plus, the prices were very reasonable for such a five-star experience. Cheers to that! 🎉
In a neighborhood with no shortage of Thai restaurants—I've tried at least four of them—Chu Ros Thai stands out as something truly special. This place doesn’t just deliver great food; it creates an experience that feels like coming home, no matter who you are or where you're from.
The service here is nothing short of outstanding. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated with genuine warmth and hospitality. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you feel welcome and well taken care of. It's clear that they take pride in not just the food they serve, but also in creating a space where everyone feels like they belong.
The atmosphere is incredible, with a vibe that’s both cozy and vibrant. It feels like you’ve stepped out of your house only to find yourself in a place that’s just as comfortable and inviting. The decor is charming, and the ambiance strikes a perfect balance between casual and elegant.
And then there’s the food—absolutely amazing. Chu Ros Thai doesn’t just serve Thai cuisine; they elevate it to a level that’s hard to match. Every dish is bursting with flavor, prepared with care, and presented beautifully. Whether you’re a fan of spicy curries, fresh salads, or perfectly cooked noodles, you’ll find something here that will keep you coming back for more.
What really sets Chu Ros Thai apart, though, is the way they embrace everyone who walks through their doors. This is a place where all lifestyles are accepted, where there’s no discrimination, and where everyone is treated like family. It’s a rare and wonderful thing to find a restaurant that not only feeds your body but also nourishes your soul.
Chu Ros Thai is in a league of its own, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and experience it for yourself. You’ll feel like you’ve found a second home.
I got the pad woon sen to go. Added duck. My girl got drunk man noodles. Legit. Will be in for dinner soon
So delicious!!
Great atmosphere and staff. The food is always hot and fresh. Love it here
Food is always awesome, they stick to quality, it’s actually hard to believe how good it is considering their prices
Great lunch spot!
Cozy, excellent service and affordable plates with large portions.
Great food and service, very authentic!
Had the tofu with mixed veggies. Tasty and fresh! Excellent food and a nice dining experience. Really nice staff.
In NYC for three nights and decided to explore out of centre. Came across this lovely restaurant; I haven’t had Thai food this great since I was in Bangkok in 2006. Really nice, quick service, lovely atmosphere.
I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough, well worth the visit. Enjoy!
super cute place, good food, good service!
Great place for lunch
There is a lunch social menu
Yummy!!
A yummy taste of Thai. Great service, fantastic food, a d a warm cozy atmosphere.
Great Thai restaurant close to a number of museums. The drinks are excellent and the food is pretty legit. The PuKaree was a unique and delicious soft crab curry. The scallion pancakes were also amazing. The only dish that didn’t blow me away was the Chicken Pad See Ew the noodles are very sweet, but otherwise I’d highly recommend this restaurant.
very good. Thai ice tea and pad tai is my favorite
Food is good price is nice and the environment is good for dating!
Fast service and delicious food!
I come here often for lunch while at work, let’s just say I hate going back to work, this place is great.
I love this place, one of my favorites in NYC
The food is amazing
So delicious. We will definitely be back! Glad we found this place and it is right around the corner from us! I had the ocean khao soi and it was incredible we also had ka moo krab and it was also great. Can't wait to come back!
I've been there twice and it's always been on my list of favorites. The atmosphere is cute, with neon signs, large windows that open onto the street and lots of plants and flowers. Very Instagrammable.
The food does not disappoint. Khao Man Gai has to be one of the best things I've had in New York, the chicken is tender, the broth is rich and the rice is fragrant. The pork noodle soup is also very sweet and sour. The fried chicken wings are delicious.
I went there for lunch and the price is also great. Success in every way!
I had an amazing experience at the restaurant! The service was outstanding, and I was pleasantly surprised when they asked about my allergies—which made me feel truly cared for. Soo good and Paul is so sweet and tender. Such great service and very full plates,
Great Thai food at affordable prices
In all honesty, the food is good. I prefer to order it there rather than have it delivered or taken out, but occasionally the food that is delivered is good. Sometimes the presentation isn't the best, but other times I like it. I've bought the Tom Yum soup, and I really like it.
Ambiente accogliente, servizio adeguato, cibo non eccezionale
We have some concerns. As other reviewers have noted, this is a very pretty restaurant. The food was delicious and the mocktails were great for a celebratory meal for someone who prefers non alcoholic drinks. BUT - the place was FREEZING! Many times during the night, our table and others mentioned to the waitstaff that there was a problem with the door to outside not shutting properly and that we were really, really cold. We all put on our outside jackets again, and we also jumped up to shut the door every time it opened, when a bitterly cold wind came in. I recommended to the manager that they make an immediate, urgent response with an automatic heavy door shut mechanism and some type of rubber or silicone seal around the edge of the door to stop wind coming in. They replied that they are looking into putting in a second door. I recommend checking what modifications have been made since mid Dec 2024 before booking. We spent over $200 for a meal that was supposed to be celebrating an important family event. While the food was nice, we were so, so cold we cannot imagine wanting to return here before these issues are fixed.
Food is excellent, mocktails are greats and the restaurant has a great aesthetic. But I cannot give any more than 3 stars because the door doesn’t shut and it’s insanely cold in winter. I had to wear my big over jacket in the restaurant because I was freezing. And I get that this is normal outside in New York but people go inside to be warmer.
Food is fresh and easy to share. Drinks are excellent but please ensure that you bring a lot of warm clothes if you are going in winter
Great host and staff, professional and patient! Delicous meals and I am glad we came here, nice ambiance! Cocktails are quenching and carefully crafted!
Our absolute favorite Thai restaurant in the city — and the best Massaman curry I’ve ever had!
Beautiful space! The Thai iced green tea is delicious
Good
I had an incredible experience at Churros Thai! The drinks were absolutely amazing—each one perfectly crafted and refreshing. The staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. As for the food, it's nothing short of outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor, but the Pineapple Fried Rice is definitely my favorite. It’s a must-try! Highly recommend Churros Thai for anyone craving delicious Thai food and top-notch service.
The service, food quality, and prices are amazing. Happy hour every day until 7!
Very cute place & food is amazing food!
My favorite Thai place of all time. I am never disappointed
Ambiance is perfect to meet up with friends for a clean and tasty meal. I drink a ton of water and I judge service by how fast they fill it up and they kept me up the whole time! Owner was working too so he was super friendly and made conversation. If you’re looking to support local and have a bang for your buck, this is the place to go.
Great place!
Great Thai ice coffee!
Such an amazing dine in experience
Super endroit, large choix vegetarien, accueil sympa et cuisine savoureuse et gouteuse. Ne le ratez pas, en plus le decor est trop cool !
Geeat thai restaurant in the neighborhood! I recommend it. Staff is very kind
The food here was fantastic! Will absolutely be coming back soon
Had such a lovely time. Food is wonderful, been coming for a few years now. Love the complimentary candle as well!
We've been here over 5+ times and ordered take out more than 10+ times and every single time the food has been amazing!
Ate shrimp pad see ew, which was great.
Churos Thai has a nice vibe whether for lunch or happy hour drinks after work. The ambiance, decor, and soft pop jazz give the place a hip feel. They have a full top shelf bar. The food was delicious. I had the lunch special spring roll, spicy basil fried rice with shrimp and thai iced tea, it was alllll goood!
Always looking for good Thai food and this place hit the spot. Cute ambiance and good service. Went for lunch and got the Pad See Ew lunch special and the Panang Curry. Both very solid. Panang was spicy and flavorful, the Pad See Ew fresh and delicious.
Very lovely place and ambiance. Delicious food and amazing menu choices. Highly recommend!
Great food and convenient from my work!
Came for lunch with 2 little toddlers, they were so accommodating, food and services were great!
It brings me back to rainforest cafe.. love the ambience
Amazing ambiance :)
Great restaurant with many menu options and reasonable prices. The ambiance is very nice as well. Would recommend for anyone looking for good Thai food in East Harlem!
Really cute restaraunt with amazing food and atmosphere! I live right across the street and it is my go to place for Thai food.
Great food and excellent service!
Great atmosphere!
lovely service and atmosphere!
The service was great and it’s a pretty cute space. Highly recommend the Khao Man Gai!
Excellent restaurant! Superb food for a terrific price! Highly recommended (after a visit to the museum of City of New York).
The service was great, the waitress was very sweet. And food was delicious, we had a chicken rice dish, fried rice and a seafood soup. All very tasty.
Great food and service
Lovely little place with a wide selection of tasty food and drinks. Highly recommend the appetizer tower.
We ordered the crab fried rice and udon drunken noodles. Food was delicious! Service was excellent and everything came quickly. It’s also a really cute atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!!
Amazing food! Great ambiance and great service
Panaang curry was delicious
Food is very tasty and with authentic Thai flavor
really like the vibe of the place!
Nice
This is my third time here and the food is good always. I always want Thai and I make the travel to dine here.
Great food and beautiful atmosphere!
Lovely atmosphere and tasty food and mocktails!
Staff are friendly and food is to my liking.
Foods are Great
Got tofu pad Thai and it was so yummy and fresh - will 100% come back!
The atmosphere and food at this place is what you would expect of a Thai restaurant 50 blocks south. A great place for a casual night out, a good place to catch up with a friend or a first date.

VERY standard green curry but nothing special. Spring rolls were crispy and fresh, definitely homemade. Brown rice was perfectly cooked.
Service was pretty bad, not very welcoming and felt unattended by the server. Nobody asked us how the food was or if we needed anything, had to wait too long to order so I called the restaurant to place my order even though we were sat outside. Nothing special about this place, wouldn't recommend.
Some of my favorite crab rangoon in the city - very generous filling.
Please bring back your chef from early 2024, he/she was the best! Whoever you have now does not fill their shoes. For example: Beef Salad...the one and only thing I order when I go there in the last year. I must have had that particular dish 15 times, it's that good. Well, it WAS good, now it's terrible. It no longer has the spicy-sour flavor that reminded me of lan larb. It's just bleh. Sorry, I won't be ordering that ever again. And my table mates were equally non-plussed about their food.

We really enjoyed our meal at Chu Ros Thai. The restaurant is beautiful, with an intimate and comfortable atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic date. There are lots of vegetarian options on the menu. We tried the emerald dumplings, spring rolls, pad kee mow, spicy basil fried rice, Aries drink, and Lady Lychee. Everything was delicious, including the dipping sauces that came with the appetizers. The items are well priced also. Worth a visit.
Thai food 🚨 absolutely gem in New York. Small but absolutely beautiful inside, feel seat in the Thai garden. Yes, absolutely is one of the best Thai restaurant ever with friendly service.
They offer so many variety choose of food and cocktails 🍹 They have amazing happy hour everyday until 7pm with valuable price.
‼️Monday - Friday lunch special 11am - 3:00pm. We got our food within 10 minutes of ordering. OMG! It’s was really fast and nice to people who only have 1.5h lunch break.
✨Mixed Appetizer
✨Creamy Hot Pot TomYum Talay
✨Khao Soi Chicken
✨Crab Meat Fired Rice
Creamy Hot Pot TomYum Talay 🍲 with Salmon, Shrimp, New Zealsnd Mussels and other veggies. Fresh, Tasty, Flavorful.
So surprised! The decoration of the restaurant will change on winter 🥶 summer 🌞
A small but quaint restaurant with authentic and delicious food. The menu offers a good variety of dishes and caters for vegetarians aswell. We particularly loved the shrimp mango salad and the red shrimp curry. The rice portions are very small, but we requested for more. The service was a tad slow when it came to the bar. It is a small establishment and perhaps they could hire another staff member. Over all, I highly reccomend this restaurant as you won't be disappointed.
Great fried rice..
Probably my favorite meal on our NYC trip. Every dish was a knockout. And the drinks! Long Island Thai ice tea was delicious. My son's bobba Thai ice tea too!
Great spot
Be careful!
The food was just okay and didn't blow us away. However, the service staff persistently asked us for a tip when we were paying, even though the service was poor. I understandably refused several times and left the restaurant after paying the bill. Although I did not authorize a tip and told the service staff on site, a 20% tip was nevertheless charged to my credit card afterwards. However, there is no tip on the bill, which is why I initially thought this was a mistake. Of course, I immediately sent a complaint e-mail. I have been waiting for a response for over three months now, which is why I have instructed my bank to charge the money back. This is not only extremely unprofessional, but also a very unfriendly service. We absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant.
Service was painfully poor. The moment we walked in, we were met with rude and dismissive service from the bartender (Thoranit, our server, said his name was Fair).
I ordered a mocktail, strained it because there was so much ice, and discovered a bug in my drink. Instead of apolozing, the bar tender pressed me, asking in sum, "Okay, what do you want?" Our waiter seemed nice. However, the bar tender had more contact with us and soured this experience.
Further, our table was full of empty plates as no one cared to clear it when we got our mains, and after taking our order, we didn't see our server until it was time for the check.
Last time I'll be here.
Amazing food at a great price. Highly recommended
Yellow Thai curry is to die for. Amazing food, service is incredibly fast and prices are good.
We went for the lunch specials, which were under $15 for appetizer and entree. This is a great price for huge first rate dishes. The food was fabulous - I was presently surprised and will return soon. The restaurant is small but the quality of the food and service deserves five stars.
Delicious food and drinks!
It was many months ago my the experience was very traumatizing we were consistently 1-2 times per week ordering pad see eww and jasmine rice one day we received an order & even provided photo evidence to uber eats there was mice or rat dropping in our rice uber saw the photos and provided us a refund as I said it was many months ago luckily here we always examine food .They never even called to apologize for the unsanitary situation either . The best of luck I use to think it was a hidden gem of east Harlem before the incident I'm a very positive person so I would never go to this establishment again in life but I do wish them luck & cleanliness & safety
Pad see ew was phenomenal! Attentive service as well. Has their Thai michelada and it was fantastic (coming from a Mexican here)!
The best pad kee mao I have ever had in NYC. Amazing flavors!
Easily one the best Thai restaurants ever. Everything tasted great and fresh. We waited for 10 mins only, which was totally fine given the Friday evening business. The atmosphere was great. A little less space to walk around your table but that didn't bother us. We ordered green curry, khao soi chicken, chicken curry puff, pad kee mao (drunken noodles), Thai chicken wings, chives pancake, and Mango Mousse cake. Definitely the best green curry we had in a while. Khao soi chicken was another favorite one that we had. Thai chicken wings tasted great with these two curries (instead of their sweet chili sauce). Their drunken noodles tasted really good too, except the quantity was less for the price. Kids loved their mango mouse cake and all other food. The cost of the food was pretty reasonable. Overall, a wonderful experience for the family and I highly recommend this place.
I left a cash tip and they still charged the tip to the card on top of that. I need that refunded as soon as possible!
I have been coming to this establishment since it was legit a box on the block. If you walked too fast you'd miss it...and I'm so excited and impressed on how they've transformed to become such edgy, dateworthy and "Instagrammable" sit down dining restaurant.
Prices & Food: very reasonable, includes lunch time specials that won't dent the pockets. I haven't had all of the dishes on the menu but the ones that I have had I enjoyed. I ❤️ the fact that they stay true to their roots regarding heat levels. They don't dummy it down for us NYers..you came there remember! On the flip..they should stay true to their roots and not serve fried chicken wings the way we do up here. That was a miss 😢
Cleanliness: 👋 they nailed it! The bathroom decor is something I'd be inspired to copy and VERY clean, smells good, etc. I hold a sanitation certificate so EVERYWHERE I go I'm looking in corners, looking at the ceiling, under the tables..I need to know my area is clean to enjoy my food! 5stars!
Service: No complaints. Each server has been attentive and patient; never really hovering to rush me and my party out so much appreciated 👏
I would very much recommend coming here. Nice for a solo date or bring a party. The place is inviting and seats about 40 people in total I believe. Warm months brings outside dining, never done it, but it looks 👌
Restaurant très beau et très bon !
Service rapide (et avec le sourire) et plats vraiment très bons.
Fantastic little spot for Thai, great food and plenty of vegetarian options!
First time! I’m here I pick up this place because looks nice I love Thai food and what to celebrate my birthday 🎂 with family and try their Thai food menu.
The food was good the restaurant was nice but I was so disappointed 😔 what to order dessert 🍮 for the special occasion after ordering several items from their menu, and order some drinks to celebrate.
I was told that the table was reserved and I can’t get dessert 👎 for my surprise 😮 if I was told from the beginning that it needed reservations I will pick up other restaurant or make a reservation. poor management didn’t recommend a take out dessert to not ruined the occasion.
I didn’t recommend it if you want to enjoy from being to end. You will feel rushed to finish and leave as I end up getting dessert 🍨 in another place.
The food is great and the team is super friendly. Spring rolls are delicious.
The food was absolutely delicious! 😋
A vibe great service the curry crab is a must
Amazing Thai food! Probably the best in New York.
We’ve watched this spot grow since the renovations and we’ve loved it every time. I take people here all the time and the service and food are always excellent.
Tout simplement délicieux ! Plats très bien cuisinés, service agréable
Visited this cute place twice, once for lunch specials and another time for dinner. Both times the food and service was good.
One of those neighborhood gems that you can't believe has such good food, lovely staff and great environment! I really recommend this place! Cheers!!
Great thai place! We got the kaprow, pad see ew and khao mun gai.
The kaprow was great. Great wok flavor cones through.
We got shrimp pad see ew and we're surprised by the amount of shrimp we got. It was full of flavor.
The khao mun gai was ok but overcooked for my liking. The soup was good and refreshing with a good ginger flavor.
Great restaurant for lunch & dinner! I recently was in the area and decided to pop in for lunch. This restaurant is small but absolutely beautiful inside, very aesthetically pleasing. When I sat down, I was greeted right away and provided with the menus. Chu Ros offers many different food options and cocktails & they have an amazing happy hour. I highly recommend the panang curry and pineapple fried rice, absolutely delicious!
SO CUTE!! Mel was so sweet and attentive and recommended great mocktails. Basil fried rice was very spicy but delicious
Nice Thai place for the neighborhood with a bit punny name for Spanish Harlem lol. A bit too "romantically" lit which is a pet peeve of mine. Tom Yum soup is hot and spicy great for the winter, so is the pork belly curry. Tastfully decorated with a full bar and good cocktails. A bit cozy for our party.
Stumbled upon this place one day when I looking for a place to have lunch I work not too far from it. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and service. Everyone is so nice here and the food is really good.
My go to meal is the Three Flavor Fish which is salmon in this semi spicy sauce. I love that they put the sauce on the side so that you can either just eat the salmon with the veggies alone which are baby corn and cabbage or mix the sauce into the dish. I once saved the sauce and mixed it in with some chicken breast strips that I made at home and it was delish! My other go to favorite is the Pineapple Fried Rice.
I really don't think you can go wrong at this place. Writing this review is making me want to order from them right now lol.
Incredible food and service. A must go.
Really nice Thai spot in East Harlem, a hidden gem the ambiance and decor is soooo cute and the food is really good and well priced. My go to is tofu pad Thai we come here often for work lunches
Our Bnb host mentioned this little gem, 2 blocks from the apartment, and so pleased with the food, amazing!! Had fhe pad thai and drinks and yummy appetizers, we enjoyed the food very much ! Will definitely repeat next time we are in NY.
Petit resto Thaï propre avec du choix prix raisonnable
Hands down the poshest Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. Shame to order take out from here when the owner clearly put alot of thought into the decor. Its a lovely place for a first date with delicious food. I was pleasantly suprised by the menu, which included vegan, street and cozy food.
This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been too in NYC
Low key atmosphere, nice and discreet service (not overwhelming) and really good food. I recommend the Pad Krapow
Wonderful low key atmosphere and really delicious food. I recommend de Pad Krapow
