Modern Thai cuisine served in authentic Thai tastes
Cute Thai spot. I had a solo lunch at Thai 72 and took advantage of their lunch menu.
I ordered the beef green curry and I really liked it. Plus the portion was generous. I added the curry puffs to my order and they were sooooo good.
Friendly & attentive staff.
I’ll definitely stop by again.
All the dishes we ordered were really delicious and well prepared.
The only downside was the dessert - we ordered their Homemade Coconuts Creme Brulee and it felt like we were eating scrambled eggs.
The service was good and everything else about this place was very enjoyable.
The Pad See Ew was great (4/5), and the Thai Iced Tea was excellent. The Shrimp Basil Udon and papaya salad are standouts—highly recommended. However, the Massaman Curry was disappointing, with rubbery beef and bland flavors. The Roti Canai was also good, it comes with chicken massaman curry that was surprisingly better than the entree.
Service was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. Overall, I’d return for the basil udon and papaya salad.
This place was delicious! Such a cute place with good food and good service! The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was a good portion and tasty! We definitely loved the spring rolls and the mango sticky rice! Our only complaint is we just wished the spring rolls came with more then just four pieces, but other then that a great experience!
This place was super crowded. Why? I’m not sure. The chicken wings tasted like they were warmed up. The Tom Kah soup could have been better seasoned and the beef curry was supposed to be beef flank? But it had a weird consistency and looked more like ground meat flattened and cut into strips. Def not appetizing. There are other Thai restaurants in the area I would recommend over this one. The Thai tea was yummy tho.
Low-key restaurant with understated, elegant decor and a mellow ambiance. The food is flavorful and the servings are large. The staff was courteous and attentive, and continuously checked in with you in case you needed anything else. I had the Blue Bangkok to drink, and it was very tasty.

Well, the atmosphere is enjoyable, the basil, Mark, duck dish I had was just OK and I was a bit shocked when I got the bill and was charged nine dollars for jasmine tea!
I would recommend that you improve the recipes and reduce the price of tea!
Great food, great price, and great customer service! I've been here a few times. Recently reserved for a bday dinner, and I didn't even have to remind the staff about it! They were already on it! Great experience every time I visit!

Excellent food with great starters choices but also tasty noodles.
Great, tasty food.
Was a bit of waiting but it was worth waiting for
Make my bunghole feel like fiyaa
The food was, overall, delicious. Portions could be more generous for some dishes.
The gratuity is included in the bill but they then ask you how much of a tip you want to add. This is a very dark UX pattern, taking off a star for this. Either include the tip or don't, don't try to con people into double charging.
This is one of my go-to spots for Thai food when in the city. Cozy , but with chic ambiance. The food is always Good here.
Great spot for dinner! We loved everything we ordered - especially the calamari appetizer! The drunken noodles were also really good. We went for a birthday dinner and they did great accommodating our group. Great service and great food.
Great food, vibes and service. Our waiter, Jar was a gem!! He made our dining experience even better. Will definitely be coming back

Rude. Rude. Rude. Rude.
All the dishes we ordered were really delicious and well prepared.

Maybe, it's just in the City. I have only tried "Ba Mee Poo" . A little too expensive for me with a portion that is not big.
I just went there with my husband. The place was packed and the server was a mess, wrong food, we had to change the table where we were because they needed for a group. She was not nice. My husband tipped her 22%. I wouldn’t do that. By the way, the food is amazing, we eat food from there once a week. But after this experience not sure
Resteraunt was half full on a Friday night and the service was still pretty slow and difficult to flag down.
Came in with a large group holding outside beverages was only informed we couldnt have them when we sat down even though it was visible coming in.
Food was okay but rather plain and dissapointing for the price. Would reccomend trying another place.
Delicious Thai dishes served promptly and attentively. Better service than expected at this quite reasonable price point. The duck dishes are super. Great spring rolls, drunken noodles, lots of great appetizers and mains including soups.
The food is delicious. The service is good. The restaurant is phenomenal outstanding. Great designing. This is my first time in New York so I would love to come back again. It was totally amazing. Thank you so much
I recently dined at Thai72, and I must say, it was an exquisite experience! As a fan of Thai cuisine, I was excited to try their offerings, and I was particularly impressed with their fresh soft summer rolls.
These rolls were a delightful combination of freshness and flavor. Wrapped in delicate rice paper, they were packed with crisp vegetables and aromatic herbs, providing a burst of freshness in every bite. The accompanying dipping sauce was the perfect complement, adding a tangy and slightly sweet flavor that elevated the dish even further.
The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, which enhanced the overall experience.
If you’re looking for a refreshing appetizer or a light meal, I highly recommend trying the fresh soft summer rolls at Thai 72. They’re a true testament to the vibrant flavors of Thai cuisine!
The food here is amazing I’ve honestly lost count as to how many times I’ve been here. I lost my Thai food virginity here and fell in love i tell everyone about this place. My favorite dish is the Chicken Massaman Curry with the white rice and hot oil on the side 10/10!
Really loved this restaurant, everything we ordered was bang on! The service was really great too. Will definitely come back.
Hands down my favorite Thai food in NYC 👌🏼
Great authentic Thai food. Extremely fast service.
Pretty solid Thai place. I really enjoyed the appetizers we had for the table. The lettuce, chicken and cashew app was perfect to share and the chicken was seasoned nicely. The roti canai was also delicious. I wish there was more roti because the sauce was incredibly flavorful! For the main, I went with a pad see ew. Great food all around

Got food poisoning!! I ordered a chicken dish and was served one with shrimp instead, but didn't notice until I started eating so I figured I would just finish it. Tasty, but as soon as I got up I started feeling unwell and things got worse from there
This place is wonderful. The food that I tried was tasty and flavorful. I ordered Duck Tamarind which was a quite large portion of boneless duck with a perfectly crispy skin. Also, tried Coconut Cheese Cake and Creme Brulee as desserts. They were good but not too exciting. Service was also very nice.
This place deserves to have five stars. However, recently received low sanitary inspection points and a decreased grade doesn’t allow me to do it.
I will change my four stars to five as soon as they improve the “B sanitary grade” to an “A”.
Great service and lovely food
Amazing
Good food, nice atmosphere.
Low-key restaurant with understated, elegant decor and a mellow ambiance. The food is flavorful and the servings are large. The staff was courteous and attentive, and continuously checked in with you in case you needed anything else. I had the Blue Bangkok to drink, and it was very tasty.
Good food for any taste. It has a menu with chicken, meat and also there are vegan options
In a city with incredible Thai food — do not eat here! Sticky, sweet sauces, tiny portions, and worse than mediocre taste. Sad to see such a great location near the park wasted.
Kind of loud at 6pm, nice space, conducive to eating comfortably. The food was delicious, I had a not spicy at all Basil Chicken dish that I would go back for.
Food was fine, although it needs some twist to make it better.
The place is very noisy that it makes you some headache.
100% authentic Thai food. Amazing service and taste. Clean bathrooms as well and absolutely phenomenal atmosphere. Perfect lunch and dinner experience!
Went there yesterday with friends! Food is amazing! Our server benz is very attentive and fast!
Food is amazing and service is top notch! Will keep coming back definitely!
Amazing Thai Food
Very nice place
A very appealing wide array of Thai dishes that go beyond the standard. And I like how they present a lot of options for how you want dish to be. For instance, I was able to have tofu Tom Yum rather than shrimp, which was a nice change that I haven’t seen elsewhere. The papaya salad had a lot of other veggies in it and was so well done. And the noodle and curry dishes are quite tasty. This popular spot is a solid choice for Thai food on the upper west side and is definitely among the best!
Appetizers were great, but the chicken entree I ordered was so disappointing… rubbery inedible chicken that obviously hadn’t been cooked to order. Had to send back. Not sure why restaurants don’t think cooking dishes fresh to order is important… but the beef I tasted from my friend’s dish was awful, too. I won’t return. Too bad!
Had a great time at Thai 72 - what a find! We had their delicious five star dumplings and a refreshing lychee Thai iced tea. The masaman curry was rich and flavorful and the roti with it was crispy. The phad khing ginger was initially too salty, but our server quickly rectified this with a replacement. The ambience was inviting, and the service, swift. Being able to make a same-day reservation added to the convenience. Overall, great food and service made our visit memorable.
Great atmosphere and service, food was also pretty good. The Thai crepe dumplings were average
There was a metal staple fried into our calamari. All they did was took it away and replaced it with a new batch. In the end, they charged us for the fried calamari metal staple combo anyway. The rest of the food was alright.
The good is incredible here and the service is so quick. I think our food was out in under 10min
my go-to spot. The food is delicious, great service, and fairly priced. Try the teas!
A definite must try if you're a fan of Thai food. The food is absolutely delicious, from the crab Rangoon and five star dumplings to the Volcano crispy duck.
I ordered two pad see ew entre with flank steak after a colleague had swore by the place. Unfortunately, when the food was received it was really dry and had almost no flavor whatsoever. In addition to that, the flank steak was extremely hard and tough i couldn’t even eat from the plate anymore. I took a few bites and left it. We requested a refund and the place was not hesitant to make sure we received the refund as well as we were ok. Food was not the greatest but services was quick and great.
Service is sublime. Well worth a visit
wow. that WRECKED us. we tried 4 different dishes (pad thai, red curry, drunken noodles, & Kao-Obb) and all our stomachs hurt for the next 24 hours. again, wow. wrecked.
Also the happy hour goes until 4pm but they close for a break at 3:45?
Good basic food. Good options for vegetarians. Courteous service.
Delightful Thai restaurant. Totally enjoyed my dinner.
What can I say. If you're in the mood for Thai, this is the place you want to go. Good food, fair pricing, and friendly and prompt service. Next time I'm in the mood for Thai, you will find me at Thai 72. 👍
Yum
Stopped by here and was hoping to take advantage of their weekend lunch special as mentioned on their website. Unfortunately, it’s just for take out. Otherwise, a very pleasant experience. We ordered a BBQ pork skewer appetizer, pad thai with pork and a soup. Meat and noodles were cooked nicely and the pad thai sauce was not too sweet. The soup was very simple, but a clear broth so as expected. Pretty standard.
Excellent food, reasonable prices, very friendly service. I highly recommend it for casual dining
Returned in 2022 and better than ever
I had an amazing experience here! The waiters are very attentive without doing too much, the price is decent and the food is so good. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxed. I usually ordered the cashew dish with steak to-go, but now I dined in and got drunken noodles. It was delicious. Thanks guys
The food was very bland last time I went. I've been here before and it was decent. Apetizers were good, so surprised to see the main courses were bland.
What a great spot for freshly made delicious Thai food! We stopped in for dinner before a show nearby and can't say enough about this restaurant. Staff were happy to seat us without a reservation (it was early and not soon after we sat the place was buzzing with energy).
We stuck to the classics this time and weren't disappointed, each bite was umami filled perfection!
The staff are neatly dressed, polite and friendly, they checked-in occasionally to make we were happy.
Make sure to checkout the cocktail list, my husband (hard spirits only guy) was very happy and a few of the delicious cocktails.
We're definitely planning on returning to try some of duck dishes and other specialties.
Great hidden gem for Thai food!
Entering Thai72 in New York City, one is met with a refreshing departure from typical Thai decor, embracing a unique, modern aesthetic that piques curiosity. The service here is a standout, striking a perfect balance between attentiveness and giving patrons their space, a rare find in the bustling city.
The culinary journey through their menu is a delightful experience. Of the twelve dishes we sampled, each was a testament to the chef's skill in blending traditional Thai flavors with contemporary twists. Standouts included the vibrant Pad Thai, rich in flavor and perfectly textured, and the Green Curry, which was a harmonious blend of spices and creaminess, leaving our taste buds dancing.
The Massaman Curry deserves a special mention for its depth of flavor, perfectly cooked potatoes, and tender meat that simply melted in the mouth. Equally impressive were the Crispy Duck and the Papaya Salad, each dish showcasing a mastery of texture and seasoning.
However, the Pork Skewers were the only dish that didn't quite hit the mark. The pork was disappointingly greasy, and the accompanying sauce lacked the depth and vibrancy one expects in Thai cuisine. It was a minor misstep in an otherwise flawless culinary canvas.
In conclusion, Thai72 stands out not just for its food but for the overall experience. It's a gem that redefines Thai cuisine with a modern twist, making it a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike. The restaurant's ability to consistently deliver high-quality dishes, with the exception of the Pork Skewers, is commendable. Thai72 is a culinary beacon in New York City, proving that sometimes, straying from tradition can lead to delightful surprises.
Went for lunch. We were not automatically given the lunch special menu; we had to ask for it. Bad sign. It appeared they wanted us to order from the regular menu which looked expensive for Thai food. When the bill came, we questioned why there were separate charges for the appetizers. The waitress had instructed us to choose an entree and an appetizer on the lunch special menu. She denied she said that and walked off to get the hostess/manager who obviously does not know how to work in the hospitality industry. She was combative and defensive. If the food was good, I could overlook the nasty attitude and foul looking faces but I’ve had better (go to Sala Thai - good food, reasonable prices, nice staff and they don’t try to trick you). Don’t bother with this place.
Thai Iced Tea is overly sweet. Tom Yum is too salty. Massaman curry is horrible, too sweet and tasted nothing like the Massaman curry I really like in Thai restaurants. Waitresses were not friendly and they rolled eyes on us when we tipped lower that what they expected. I used to live right next to Thai72 and everything about it was good until tonight we tried it again and we now hate it. This is gonna be our last time.
My go to local Thai place. Never disappoints.
I ordered takeout here for the first time and it was excellent!! I had called before to ask a few questions and they were so nice and helpful. This will be my new go-to for sure. Big portions and the meat was very lean and clean.
We stopped here to have dinner before a show at the Beacon. We had a reservation but honestly we didn't need it on a Wednesday night. We shared the appetizer sampler which was presented beautifully and tasted just as good. We also shared a noodle pish with BBQ pork and shrimp. It was quite enjoyable. It was plenty of food for the both of us. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. We'll be back.
As a visitor, I felt like a local. great service, Thai food is fantastic all around, but this place has t nailed. Right in the heart of NYC.
Perfect after hours at natural history museum. Service was great, good sized portions at good prices.
It's a great place to eat and take a break if you are in the area.
I tried the BKK fried rice. It has some seafood and meat toppings. It was a bit too salty but otherwise okay.
Delicious Thai food, excellent service in a comfortable and well-designed setting.
Quality Thai food, cozy atmosphere, quick service!
If you like authentic Thai cuisine at a more than fair price- this is your place!
The food was awesome and not overpriced. Best Phad Thai I I have had outside of Thailand.
Staff was friendly, going round, filling up the free water all the time.
Atmosphere and interior are welcoming and cozy. Even when the place got busy, it did not get too loud, and you could still comfortably have a conversation.
We loved this place and if I am ever in NY again, it is definitely on the list.
Pad See Ew is delicous! The Pad Thai, though, was just ok, not great, and was missing peanuts. The Thai dumplings were decent.
Food was phenomenal! Flavor, freshness, and portions were on point. Great lunch deal. Add ons were delicious also, Tom Kha soup, chive pancake and salad😋
Like it very much, flavorful food, delicious
Friends and I had a quick lunch before going to see the "Barbie" movie. The service was prompt and attentive. For lack of a better description, I had the chicken "pho" soup. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. I am still dreaming of it. The broth had good flavor. It was not salty or overpowering. I find some broths are demanding in flavor, but this was not. Some can say it was mild, but it allowed the chicken flavor, the boy choy, noodles, and bean sprout flavors to come through. The portion was generous and filling. The menu offered many selections, and I plan to return. I very nice find for 72nd street on the upper west side. 😀
Small but cozy restaurant in the upper west side. All the staff was nice. Food was delicious and came in fast. They do a lot of deliver.
Good food, good portion sizes, loud, efficient but not spectacular service. My biggest issue is it was so loud that it made conversation challenging. We were there on a busy Friday night so perhaps mid-week would be better.
We had the lettuce cups and spring rolls for starters, which were both okay. The shrimp Pad Thai was very good with a fair amount of shrimp, good flavor and a decent portion size. The chicken curry was really tasty as well and not too spicy. The rice and vegetables was good, again very large portion.
The cocktails were creative and strong.
Definitely worth going.
Good food, reasonably priced - for New York City!
Solid food and decent interior, quite loud with service seriously lacking throughout the meal. Staff seems bothered by people wanting to order or paying their bill
Loved it...
The mock duck (drunken noodles) was better than most real duck. 🦆
Thai iced tea was perfectly sweetened, and not too sugary like some places.
Side of roti was flaky and delicious (and cheap).
Would come back and try everything.
I had a good time here, the food was delicious
It was a very pleasant experience. Thai 72 has now matched my other favorite upper west side Thai restaurant, Sala Thai. One of my favorite dishes, grilled/ BBQ chicken with crispy skin with a side of sticky rice, was matched and quality. Although the prices were about the same. Now. I have a second place I'm more than happy to go to. We also started off with the crispy puffs, a combination of potato and chicken wrapped in a pastry. Also delicious. The fresh Brewed green tea is also a pleasant way to start the meal
Overall a good experience. Found the portions small for the price compared to other thai restaurants. Service was very quick. Atmosphere was nice but loud.
Excellent service and excellent food. We literally love it. We sure are going back again
Nothing better than trying a nice spot, and the being seated and delivery/pick up has a wait. Means everyone enjoys the food there... And it's true, food was DELICIOUS!
Reasonably priced especially for Manhattan, with subtle flavor, good presentation, and excellent service.
Dd not order delivery!!! Estimate was 35-45 minutes After an hour I called. They do not pick up. Kept at it. They finally pickup and after putting me on hold for 5 minutes tell me that my food will take another 30 minutes. Frustrating. And yes. I’m hangry now.
Thai 72 dishes up delicious food across the board and serves some of the best curry puff appetizers I have had at any restaurant.
You can’t go wrong with the Chicken Pad Thai which is the measure of any Thai restaurant worth its salt. My second go to is the Pineapple fried rice.
The drinks are exceptional as well. The Thai mule served with pomegranate is refreshing and hits the spot every time.
Food was good but not spicy enough. Veey nicely decorated though.
Good Thai and nice ambiance. seating can be more sturdy and private. Slow service but good food
Inattentive server. Great food.
Terrible food.
Has no taste whatsoever, poorly made Thai food.
Would not recommend to anyone, there’s a 18% gratuity per check which is crazy because they don’t say there’s gratuity for a party of 2. I did my math correctly and the 18% they charge you for gratuity isn’t 18%,it’s 22%. There is barely any service to pay for so I don’t understand what’s with the 22% auto-gratuity.
Great quality of food!
We walked to this place from Central Park after a recommendation - this was a celebratory lunch for my daughter’s graduation. The walk had anyways made us build our appetite and it’s was definitely worth it. I would recommend this place strongly if you want to have a sumptuous meal. The food was very good / and we were so hungry and well presented that I forgot to take pictures and just dug in :)
The staff is polite and gives you enough time to make up your mind before you order. The food was delicious and the vibe awesome. The beee was chilled.
Their portions are generous and we are four adults and two kids // and had orders five dishes.

Fantastic meal ... The summer rolls and thai basil curry were great. The Spicy Lychee Martini is fantastic.
Bad customer service.
The food was not satisfying. They also told us clearly that the food isn’t prepared in their kitchen…
I’ve been on the hunt for the best Thai takeout on the UWS for the past 2 years. Found this one tonight & I gotta say I have no complaints. Got tofu pad Thai, chicken massaman, chicken satay & coconut sticky rice. 10/10 loved it. The chicken in the massaman was very soft. Peanut sauce with the satay was amazing I could eat it plain. Pad Thai was perfect
It’s a nice restaurant
The Tom Yum soup was amazing. Just like in Bangkok.
We were happy to get a table without reservation.
The food was delicious but unfortunately they ran out of rice paper so we couldn't have any spring rolls.
The staff was very friendly but they looked a bit hectic and unorganized.
I'll definitely try it again.
My companions enjoyed their food but mine was not tasty, sort of a lump of rice with a few strips of meat. Reasonable price for Manhattan though, and the atmosphere was attractive.
I stopped at this restaurant for lunch after an appointment. The duck dish was a bit on the salty side but overall, the food and experience were good. They also had good lunch specials! I would definitely return if ever in the area again.
