Thai staples & more exotic specials in a Bangkok street market-themed setting.
BEST thai restaurant I have ever been to in America simply phenomenal in my opinion. The duck was outstanding and even with all the the sauce it was so crispy and melted in your mouth the meat was so tender and the curry sauce was so creamy.
The appetizer was also really good and the filling was very tender and juicy. The GPKD was also great and spicy however quite salty. Highly recommend.
Delivery perspective:
Typically don’t order Pad Thai, but their version here is the best I’ve had on the UWS. If they do this well, everything else must also be done well ?
Don’t sleep on their chicken wings. The crisp held up during delivery and it’s not overly seasoned. The sauce that came with was sweet with a little sour, almost BBQ sauce like.
The eggplant dish had great flavor and well seasoned.
Gui Chai Tod is spectacular. The sauce is a bonus but unnecessary. The kind of side you want while drinking.
Goong Tood is how fried garlic shrimp should taste. Eat the shell and tail because you’re not basic.
Skip the pad se-ew. You’re welcome.
Gai rad prik- extremely flavorful sauce, dry white chicken. Meh.
Can’t wait to try more. There’s a reason why they’re always packed when I walk by: they’re very good
One of the few times I give 5 stars. Aside from price, the place was like perfect. The servers, serve in a way that is there but also non invasive. The atmosphere is clean, on theme, and we'll lit for a nice mood. And the food... well is like premium/quality Thai.
I had an aversion from a previous experience with Thai in another restaurant and this place helped me get over it.
I ordered the panang curry which they easily and without hassle substituted the meat with salmon. And it was beautifully plated, the salmon was perfectly cooked tender and flaky, flavor on point, and just ask around perfection. I also ordered a pomegranate ginger ale and it was alright. Not that good. Too much sugar but the curry was bomb.
Tried my friend's curry as well and it also slapped. So good!
I used to love this place but I haven't been by in a few years due to pandemic. Last night I craved Thai fried rice w/pineapples, chicken and cashew nuts. The rice was so gross. It was greasy and had some type of Chinese sausage in it. I couldn't believe it when I saw the the reddish sweet sausage, so I gave them a call to try to identify this meat. The rice was also mashed. And the chicken breast pieces had a coating on it. Very inauthentic Thai cuisine. If I want Chinese food, I would've went to a Chinese restaurant. Very disappointing. And the cucumbers that are usually alongside Thai rice were missing, But there was some beat up tomato pieces inside the rice. My goodness.
Service is extremely bad. We took sashimi there, they found it and not allowed us to eat IN IMPOLITE MANNERS. That scared me! The waiter kept saying:Nonono! Put it away right now please!with high volume and kept saying right now and put it away!
When we checked, they forced us to give minimum 20% tips,we only have 3 ppl!And after we paid, they said our sashimi again!!!!!like they wanna warn us!
they took us 21bucks tips and not be in good manners!!!
So you're looking for great thai food, huh? Well congratulations because you have stumbled across the right place. This is by far the best thai food I have had in NYC. From the appetizers to the entrees, they are all packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.
I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, but the drinks were not great. Overall, a fantastic place for a flavorful meal!
Delicious, fresh food. The beef larb was great, so was the mango salad. Everything is so fresh!
Hands down the best Thai food in the city. It is even better than the street food in Thailand. We have been coming here for the past 15 years.
Yummy food but noisy and service can be slow.

This place is a jem! The food is awesome, the service awesome, the atmosphere exactly right. I mean my glass of water never even got to half empty, they were on top of it!
Best Thai in nyc
Nice price
Outstanding. Spent a month and a half in Chiang Mai eating Khao Soi a few times a week and have yet to find much outside of Thailand worth eating. This is very much an exception. Something about how the spices in the curry are prepared is a bit different from anywhere else I've been, imparting a slightly smoky, almost charred flavour that rounded out the base of the dish beautifully. The chicken was perfectly marinated and cooked, rich in flavour and fall-apart tender. Sublime.
I only wish there was a bit more acid in the toppings to cut the gorgeous broth.
Would recommend this to anyone, anytime. I wish I were in New York longer to come back for another bowl! Will be returning at my first opportunity.
Our favorite spot! So good and very reasonably priced!

Tasty and fresh food with authentic taste.

Love this neighborhood staple that’s been around for over 14 years. Go for the minced dumplings, and any entree. So sad they don’t have the duck dish they’ve served since I was a teenager anymore! Otherwise great staff and experience.
Used to love coming here, but ever since the new host came, seating has been whack. - not friendly-
Buen lugar
somehow takes the thai comfort food dining experience to the next level, great for takeout or dining in
The food here has gone so down hill it almost makes me want to cry. $20 for watery flavorless green curry and $21
for the Tiger Cry steak that used to be soooo good and full of flavor. Now it just tastes like straight up salt. Basically $50 bucks I paid for this food and I don't even want to eat it. Trash.
Good food in a nice restaurant. We got the special and three other dishes. All were great. Not too spicy and wonderful flavors. Servers were nice and kept our water glasses full.
Great atmosphere, wonderful food and service.
Best pad see ew I’ve ever had
The food is amazing
I have had some unique food options which is very different from other Thai places
Their menu is designed like a newspaper which is pretty cool
The food at Thai Market is possibly the best Thai food I have had in the US. Everything we have tried over many visits has been consistently delicious, including the Branzino, Salmon, Chicken Massaman, Pad Thai and Chicken Sate. The only problem is that is now so popular that there is often a 1 hour wait.
Best Thai food hands down. I’ve been coming here for over 15 years. Service is always quick. Food is consistently delicious. I now live in Orange County, and any time I make the trip to the city, I make sure to stop by Thai Market and get some tasty Thai food. My favorite restaurant!
Amazing
Lunch specials are pretty affordable but the flavors were not out of this world in what I ordered (the seafood soup). They were a bit skimpy in the seafood in my soup but I guess I got what I paid for. The soup was VERY spicy but what do you expect from Thai food?
This place is not bad if you're looking for cheap Thai food!
Not very good, slow service
Great Thai food in Upper West. Not so pricy and great taste. Highly recommend this spot if you live around Uptown.
Food is good, toilet is clean, service? Big no.
The crepe is amazing. I also really enjoy the green curry.
One of the best Thai restaurants i know in NYC. i was there when they opened after more than 15 years I still return
Love going to Thai Market. Great drinks, service and tasty dishes.
So I go in and get seated. I walked in with a small boba from the shop across the street and get seated without any issue. I order the lunch special which was fine (not great). As I get up to leave (I left a tip of over 20%) the young-ish male waiter asks me if the empty boba cup was mine. I was like “yes but I’m done with it, thank you” and keep walking. Tell me why he literally grabs its and puts it in my hand telling me that it’s from outside so I can’t leave it there.
Mind you I had just answered a call and was walking out of the restaurant.
To me this is extremely rude. If I got let in without a problem with my boba and no one ever said anything throughout my dining experience why would then the waiter have an issue at the end???
Where is the customs service and the hospitality ???
If he grabbed the cup he could have easily put in in the trash instead of in my hand…
So rude, will never be going back.
Best Thai place in the area
The food is quite good, my pad thai was fried really well and the shrimps were fresh but somehow was not spicy enough despite ordering dishes with the 3 chillis sign. Taste-wise was also on the sweeter side. The flavouring tastes like something I have had for cheaper from the food truck :(
Good food, nice service, and great atmosphere! Definitely coming back!
We were looking forward to some good Thai food but were left disappointed. While the ingredients seemed fresh everything we ordered was much too sweet, to a degree that it overwhelmed all other flavors, which is a feat for Thai food. It's a shame cause the service was great and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
To start off I got the Kow Pad Kana which they accommodated me and made it mildly spicy. Good chunks of chicken but I wish they added more chicken broccoli. To finish, I got the Fried Ice Cream which is always really yummy. Overall great restaurant in terms of value and taste.
I found a hair in my main course, which made me feel disgusting. Besides I paid them 12% fees due to the accident. And they also require me to pay for more and even said: anything wrong? Sooooooooo bad experience I have ever experienced. Won’t come here again.
Excellent Thai Food. Very fresh, wide selection. Great prices. Very nice staff willing to answer questions about food choices.
Preface: this is a review based on delivery from Ubereats, but I plan to visit in person soon.
I never leave reviews for places, but I feel compelled to leave a review for Thai Market. My mom is Thai and a phenomenal cook. After moving away from home, I almost NEVER bother to get Thai food at a restaurant, because most of it is Americanized and disappointing. If I want good Thai food, I’m usually resigned to making it myself.
That gets hard when you have a long day at the office and don’t have time to go to an Asian grocery store to get everything you need if you’re having a craving for Thai.
Thai Market popped up and seemed to have good reviews so I ordered the larb and green curry. I really just craved good green curry, but ordered the larb because most places list it as a salad and they don’t include sticky rice or romaine leaves, which is how I’ve eaten it growing up both when my mom had made it and whenever we were in Thailand during the summers.
The green curry was pretty good, but the larb…I actually teared up eating it because it tasted just like my mom’s and it reminded me of home. I was truly taken aback because I’m used to Thai restaurant larb being too mild or too sweet. It was perfect!
I’ll have to try other dishes, but for now, the larb is just too reminiscent of my childhood that I can’t help but want to eat it all the time. The romaine is fresh and not wilted at all, and the sticky rice is the perfect cooked, way better than any of my attempts to make sticky rice on my own, that’s for sure.
If you want really authentic larb and slightly more authentic green curry, then this is the place to go. My biggest disappointment with the green curry was the lack of Thai eggplant and the inclusion of bell peppers. I’m used to two types of Thai eggplant, bamboo, and basil leaves being the main components aside from the curry. Thai eggplant gives a different texture to the dish that the eggplant they use doesn’t, and that it’s my favorite part. The taste is on point, but I really missed the medium round Thai eggplant and the tinier round green eggplant.
I’m looking forward to trying their version of Nam Tok, because that is one of my favorite dishes.
I ordered the Sen Mee Nuer Puey, which was a noodle soup with brisket and beef meatballs that tasted amazing, slightly salty because I had to keep drinking water afterwards. My friends ordered something spicy but said they weren’t very spicy so it was probably more American tasting Thai food. By the way, the restaurant was spacious but the trash can in the bathroom was broken...
Great Thai Food!!!!
Very tasty meal. Started with the papaya salad and calamari. Pomegranate ginger ale and thai ice tea. Curry puffy. Standard all good. Not blown away.
Rice dish with ground chicken is sweet, soup vermicelli is good portion with big chunky of meat. also enjoyed the beef ball in it! My go to Pad Se ew order of shrimp is good(although i forgot to add my usual tofu), pad ke mao has tomato which is different. All the dishes came out fast and was piping hot.
Mango sticky rice is fresh and sweet. Service was just ok but everyone is amicable.
I’m so highly disappointed, the food taste cheap, rubbery and lacked a true Thai food flavor .The Thai dumplings horrible ,huge chunks of peanuts inside the dumplings. My chicken pad Thai was horrific. My friend only took 3 bites of her food. Whoever ranked this restaurant 4 stars or more I can’t truly trust their judgment lol
The food was awful. The pad Thai smelled like wet hay and something sickly sweet, and the pad kee mao smelled like a horse stable. I don't know what they did to the food, but it's the worst Thai food I've ever had.
Amazing pork skewers and skirt steak - very juicy and well-marinated. Friendly, efficient service
Did not even get to try the food. We sat down and the restaurant was completely empty. We asked the server could we pull two tables together and she said no. There was at least 30 empty tables. We got up and walked out.
Great food, good service.
Great authentic Thai food. We loved the Pad Thai so much that we ordered 3 dishes! The Tom Yum Goong was great too.
Best thai food in NYC, by far, it is EXCELLENT
Wonderful food and service
Tasty Thai specialties
Alwas a pleasure to be here.
Amazing
I went in pretty hungry and I must say I was pretty impressed with how quickly they delivered our orders. It isn't the biggest place to be but it is cozy. They are very strict on time and started to close the restaurant immediately at 9pm even though we were still inside. I thought it was strange but we made it out on time before it was fully shut.
Solid Thai restaurant for dine in and take out. My favorite items to get here are:
-Steamed Thai Dumpling
-Skirt Steak
-Lychee Martini
-Pad Thai
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Food, cocktails and service are all amazing 😍😍😍
Although, the person I went with loves this place unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my meal here.
Kha soi is so good
First time here and it was a pretty good place to eat. Sorry for the horrible pictures but we were starving and we just devoured the food.
My partner and I had 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. Which for appetizers we had the spring rolls and chicken wings. Honestly some of the best wings I’ve had, needs a bit more seasoning but with the sauce they provided they were really good. For entrees, I had the beef pad Thai and my boyfriend the drunken noodles with beef as well. They weren’t amazing, the drunken noodles said they were “spicy” but they were sweeter more than anything.
I give it a 3.5 star if I could because service was okay, I felt rushed when the server was taking my order. She came really fast the first time and we didn’t even get a chance to look at the menu. Then she came again 2min after and we were still deciding on what we were getting. We asked her a couple of questions about the entrees and she answered them and told her what we wanted and she tried to take our menus and I had to stop her so I can put an order for appetizers.
All in all, pretty good restaurant.
Went to this resturent for dinner on a weekend. I ordered rainbow trout seafood, fried rice and pad Thai. The food is good, I would say above average. They service is satisfactory, the got the food pretty quickly. However, they had room in terms cleanliness for washroom and atmospheres. The resturent is located in the city and finding parking can be challenging depending upon the time.
Great Thai food for a fair price. Would recommend the tiger steak
For good quality food in the city these prices were so affordable. Nice staff as well.
Ordered Tom yum soup, spring rolls, and pad Thai. The Tom yum was delicious however the other two items were not. The pad Thai had no distinct taste, very week flavor tasted mostly of noodles. Similarly for the spring rolls, weak in flavor tasted mostly deep fried, veggies inside had no taste.
Excellent food with some Thai specialties that are hard to find elsewhere.
Thai food here is taste like Thai food in Thailand. 👍😁
My first time here and the food was exquisite. The servers are very attentive. I will definitely go back. Thank you for the great experience.
Amazing food! This place us always full so I only get take out...I come back here almost weekly!
best pad see-ew I have ever had. <3
Delicious!
I came to Thai Market when I first moved here and I keep coming back. It’s always great, wonderful service and delicious. Can’t miss!
i've only dined in once, was a good experience, nothing too special. I order takeout from here ALL the time. my favorite thai in the neighborhood.
This is my go to Thai restaurant on the Upper West Side. No matter what I order it is always served freshly made. Not to mention the service is great the servers are really attentive and friendly. Portions are also very filling. I got the drunken noodles but what I typically order is the Shrimp Pad Thai. Give this a place a try if you’re looking for delicious authentic Thai food.
Really, really good Thai food!!!
The food was great but the staff was very rude. It took away from the experience. :(
Thai crepe was amazing. Wings and pad Thai were solid too
I did not enjoy the food. It needed some flavor! Cute place tho
性价比不错。绿咖喱的味道正宗,但鸡肉用的居然是鸡胸肉…泰式奶茶真的好甜好甜,忘记半糖了
The food was decent. Just by all means don't sit by the bathroom . Avoid sitting in the back at all costs .thank me later .
Excellent local Thai place. Not just pad thai, but they have many other wonderful dish.
Ordered fried bream/bass and pad see ew via delivery. Fish was bitter and dry. Chicken was also dry as if overcooked or reheated. Have been a loyal customer when restaurant was in midtown Manhattan and am very disappointed. Complained to manager Bon with no recourse.
I had Daikon crab "cake", which was very greasy. Could not taste any crab. The other dish was a spicy Pad with chicken and vegetables (can't remember the actual name of it). I found the noodles to be gummy. Not my best Thai experience, although I am no expert on Thai food.
Was good for price
My friend and I ate dinner at Thai Market last night, and it was a lovely experience. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly, and our water glasses were never empty. We shared the Thai dumpling appetizer and loved them. I had pad see ew. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and there was plenty of chicken in the dish. My friend ordered the Massaman curry - delicious! Good vibes and aesthetic as well. Will definitely be returning. A great find on the Upper West side.
Pretty good cuisine, very fast service, cute street food decor.
Very good option for Thai in the UWS, great for delivery too
Best Thai Food In New York. Period. That Salmon made me want to just give up on life and go see my maker. I mean!? JUST LOOK AT THE PIC SON! they are special at this place. If you can’t eat fish! Tons of options to choose from that’s just as good! TREAT YO SELF! Poetic Approved!!!
One dish was tasty, but I had back stomach after. Worse, female waiter with a shrilly voice, was quite rude when we requested to transfer seats to a different table which remained unoccupied the whole time we were there, until we left. I understand they can't transfer us, but it can always be said in a respectful way. We would have left if we weren't so hungry and we didn't want to change parking spots since it was very cold.
Worse, the female waitstaff was like hurrying us to finish when there weren't really a lot of people and we did not really take long. I also found it pathetic that we just had stood up from the table to leave, and the first thing she did was to look at how much tip we gave. Kinda pathetic she is.
We came back here after almost 7 years for sentimental reasons since I was craving for Thai food and was in the Columbia area at the Upper West Side. My husband and I are in unison in saying we won't come back ever! We will find a better Thai place. (We visited in January 2022.)
One of the best Thai food place in city, not like most of Thai restaurants in city are small, this place is actually spacious, great food and great service sadly they don’t open lunch during weekdays
A great Thai place, good options, always so delicious.
Sabroso y entretenido. Precios normales
Great food, cocktails and the services was excellent. Its the only Thai restaurant I visit and it never dissappoints
